How it works

Get it done in 5 steps.

Text Editor is a free rich-text editor for drafting content with headings, lists, tables, links, images, and embeds, then copying clean HTML. It runs entirely in your browser, and it is also open source on npm and Docker Hub so you can add it to your own app or server.

  1. Start typing in the editor, or paste content from Google Docs or a web page.

  2. Use the toolbar for headings, formatting, lists, alignment, tables, links, and images.

  3. Open Find and replace with Ctrl or Cmd + F to edit repeated text quickly.

  4. Switch to the HTML source view to check or copy the markup.

  5. Choose Preview to see the final result before you publish it.

FAQ

Questions about Text Editor

Still stuck? Contact us and we'll help.

Is my text saved or uploaded?

No. The editor runs entirely in your browser. Images are embedded as data URLs, not uploaded. Copy your content or HTML before you close the page.

Can I paste from Google Docs or Word?

Yes. Pasted content is cleaned so you keep headings, lists, links, and basic formatting without messy inline styles.

How do I get the HTML?

Open the HTML source view from the toolbar. You can beautify the markup and copy it with one click.

Can I use this editor in my own project?

Yes. Install @templatepix/text-editor from npm for React apps, or run the lasmind/text-editor Docker image on your own server. It is open source under the MIT license.

Can I embed videos?

Yes. Insert YouTube and Vimeo links from the toolbar and they are embedded in the content.
